2017 Event Review

Asset Management

To deliver public sector reform, including community empowerment and integration of health and social care, enhanced partnership working and multi-occupancy of the public sector estate is essential. Holyrood's 2017 Asset Management conference examined a range of issues, including how increased co-location and collaboration can improve services, enhance efficiencies and reduced costs. Through group work, delegates considered the opportunities and benefits that enhanced collaborative use of assets can deliver and the event closed with a series of case studies, showing where enhanced collaboration and asset utilisation is delivering some of the benefits considered through the day.

Keynote speakers included:

  • Morag Angus, Chief Surveyor, Scottish Government
  • Dr Ally R Memon, Senior Lecturer Management, Kingston Business School
  • Douglas Duff, Head of Planning and Economic Development, Falkirk Council
  • Maurice McCann, Project Manager, Midlothian Council
  • Sam Cassels, Associate Director, ‎Scottish Futures Trust
  • Chief Inspector Barry Blair, Local Area Commander for West Lothian, Police Scotland
